In Canasta Junction, there are two types of wild cards: Jokers (worth 50 points) and 2s (worth 20 points). These cards are powerful because they can be used as a substitute for any natural card (from 4 to Ace) to help you form a meld.
For example, you can combine two Kings with a Joker to form a meld of three Kings.
How the App Manages Wild Card Rules: Canasta Junction automatically enforces the specific rules for using wild cards, so you don't have to worry about making a mistake. The key rules are:
- A meld can contain a maximum of two wild cards.
- You must always have more natural cards than wild cards in a meld (e.g., you cannot add two wild cards to a single natural card).
- Wild cards can never be added to a meld of 7s.
- You are generally not allowed to discard a wild card. The app will only permit this if it is the very last card in your hand to go out, or if you have no other legal cards to play.
